So you want to be a mercenary.  Obviously, the job of mercenary is not one that is going to be commonly on many people’s job search or career planning list.  Clearly, there is a large and vast array of specific and specialized skills that go into a job as a mercenary.  Not surprisingly, military training is important. In fact, if you want to be a mercenary the more military training you can get, the better.  Being captain of your football team will probably not cut it in the world of being a mercenary.

Career Facts:

Read this closely.  Being a mercenary is not for the faint of heart.  If you need to be told that being a mercenary can be dangerous, very dangerous, you must be “new.”  Mercenaries are often employed by companies and can find themselves sent to hotspots all over the world.  These hotspots are called “hotspots” for a reason, namely, people will be shooting at you and you are likely to be shooting back.  It’s the nature of the business.

Career Opportunities and Job Outlook-Unknown:

Career statistics on mercenaries are scarce for obvious reasons.  In general, the more conflicts there are around the world, the better business will be for the mercenary.

A Day in The Life:

Mercenaries can find themselves guarding important people, with very little happening, or they can find themselves in the middle of some serious action.  This level of career uncertainty is reflected in their pay.  Let’s just say this, a rough day for a mercenary is likely to be worse than a bad day in almost any other profession.

Average Salary:

Salary can very greatly.  Some mercenaries can expect to make six-figure incomes depending on whom they are working for and where.
