Yes indeed, you can be a professional skydiver.  Someone has to strap novice skydivers looking for a thrill to their chest and jump out of airplanes with them.  If you are interested in helping people get the thrill of a lifetime, then you might want to put skydiver at the top of your career planning and job search list.  Skydivers get to spend their days training complete and total newbies in the fine art of jumping out of an airplane.  No doubt its fun, but there is also no doubting the danger.

On the plus side, if you are a thrill junkie, then its tough to top professional skydiver.  Imagine that someone is paying you to skydive!  All you have to do is strap some untrained idiot to your chest and jump out of an airplane.  Still interested?  Then tandem skydiving might be for you.

A Day in The Life:

Much of this job does not take place in the air.  As logic would dictate, a good deal of this job thankfully takes place on the ground.  Skydiving instructors give their students just enough training that they will survive their jump in one piece.  There are, of course, numerous dangers that all would be skydivers should be well aware of before signing up for this job.  The risk of a shoot not opening, well, it does in fact happen.  All equipment malfunctions at some point, of course, but usually you have a back up shoot.  If that shoot also fails, let’s just say somebody had it in for you.

Working as a skydiver will encompass instructing students and checking that your gear is ready to go.  For adrenalin junkies, there can be few other careers that offer quite as much excitement and fun.  Additionally, there is the thrill of knowing that you gave someone an experience that they will never forget.

Skydiving pay can vary depending upon the job and facility that one works in.

Career Training and Qualifications:

If you want to survive you will go through extensive training.  Failure while skydiving isn’t like putting the wrong screw in on the assembly line.
